Training Programme

Digi-Craft Training Programme is a comprehensive content designed to enhance the digital skills of craftspeople, encompassing everything from embedding digital technologies in handcrafting techniques to modern marketing strategies. The overarching objective is to empower craftspeople with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the evolving digital landscape and effectively promote and sell their craft.

The production of the training programme started with a series of needs analysis work including an Online Survey which aims to assess the needs of craftspeople and the difficulties, challenges that they face about using digital technologies in their hand-made and marketing processes. Each partner reached at least 50 craftspeople from their countries. The Survey was implemented online using SurveyMonkey and is available in English, Flemish, French and Portuguese. (You can access the survey here.)

After the Survey, a series of local workshops have been held in each partner country to analyse and examine in detail the needs of craftspeople by directly working with and listening to them. During the workshops, the craftspeople had the chance to discuss the issues about reviving, preserving, and transferring the traditional skills to new generations, using digital technologies, their knowledge and capacity needs, challenges, and their solutions.

According to the survey results and key findings of the workshops, partners have developed the Digi-Craft Training Program’s contents. The final version of the training program is now available in English and will become available soon in 3 languages (Portuguese, French, and Flemish)

After completing the production of the Training Programme, currently the Digi-Craft Local Training Workshops are being held with 20 participants in France, Belgium and Portugal in both online and face-to-face settings!
